Green Energy UK launches new tariffs

Green Energy UK has launched two new tariffs for electricity customers that want to improve their environmental credentials.

The supplier, which is the only company that offers consumers energy from 100 per cent renewable sources, has unveiled products called Deep Green and Pale Green.

Deep Green offers clients 100 per cent renewable energy from solar, hydro and wind sources, while those who sign up to Pale Green will receive power from combined heat and power sources.

Green Energy UK's chief executive and co-founder Doug Stewart said the new tariffs gave customers "more choice".

"We don't buy from coal or gas fired power stations and we don't just buy up to the government or EU obligations; we buy to our own stringent standards – and that's 100 per cent green," he explained.

"All customers of Green Energy UK contribute to reducing the impact of their electricity use on the environment."

Earlier this year, the eco-friendly energy supplier urged customers to switch to green electricity and avoid the knock-on effects of rising oil and fossil fuel prices.ADNFCR-1054-ID-18592921-ADNFCR
